Assistive Technology Provider- ATP
Full-time or Part-time position - will consider both.JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for assessment of patient needs for rehabilitative/assistive technology at intake. Work on a multi-disciplinary team (including- physician, physical therapist, and/or occupational therapist) to evaluate patient for appropriate rehab and assistive technology equipment to meet patient goals. Gather medical documentation, prepare insurance required paperwork, and code and price all rehab equipment and parts. Order and assembling equipment for delivery, setup and instruct patient on use and maintenance required for equipment. Complete post delivery follow-up with the patient. Maintain current knowledge of rehabilitative/assistive technology available on the market while keeping professional relationships with product vendors. Keep referral sources informed of trends in funding and equipment available for their patients. Obtain required CEU’s for RESNA and NRRTS. Oversee all work done in the rehab and assistive technology area including repairs and retail sales to insure it is done professionally and in a financially sound manner. Saturday duties included. Maintain compliance with the accreditation body, RESNA and NRRTS standards regarding assistive technology and all rehabilitative services. Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Licensed Physical therapy assistant, Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, bachelor’s degree in a clinical/rehab science, or other education approved by Director
One year of experience working with people with disabilities either in a long term care or home care setting
Current ATP certification and registry with the NRRTS group strongly preferred
CPR card (BLS) optional
Able to speak clearly and distinctly with staff, physicians, elderly patients, and family members.
Must be able to extensively utilize telephone for communication with customers, vendors, and other departments
Able to stand for prolonged period
Clear and precise vision is required to distinguish products labels and signs
Able to lift 50 lbs, reach, pull, push, bend, steep and kneel
