Pride U and Quantum University
Reimbursement Fundamentals for Complex Rehab

Level: Advanced Complex Rehab Reimbursement Course

Duration and Credits: 5 Hours – 0.5 CEUs and 5 CECs

Course Description: Medical documentation that justifies accessories is
essential for any funding source. The medical necessity must be documented in
the patient’s medical record and be available to Medicare upon request. It is
important to remember that documentation should focus on the mobility aspects
of the patient’s condition along with completion of mobility related
activities of daily living (MRADLs).

This course will provide attendees with an overview of Medicare’s PMD policy
and coverage criteria for complex rehab power mobility devices (including
seating options and accessories) from a provider’s point of view. In
addition, attendees will be provided with clinical guidelines (not an all
inclusive list) regarding documentation requirements to successfully obtain
the appropriate covered mobility equipment for beneficiaries. Through the use
of case studies, attendees will have the opportunity to review several complex
rehab claims and with the instructor’s guidance identify critical
documentation requirements to successfully obtain reimbursement.
